Vancouver Observer reports about the Fan Encounters in Squamish

The Vancouver Observer reports about some fan encounters in Squamish:

"The cast of Twilight drunkenly stumbled into McDonalds three nights ago after a late-night party," Chris, a McDonald's employee told the Vancouver Observer. "They came in here in a swarm."

The wedding scene in Breaking Dawn is apparently being filmed in Squamish, under tight wraps. But despite the secrecy surrounding the set, the crew themselves seem to be relaxed about showing up around town. And ever since Twilight's crew rolled into town, business has improved for some merchants, like Jay Dewitt, District Manager of Metropolitan Theatres.

“It all started when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart came to Red Riding Hood and social media took over. These young 14, 15-year-old girls were texting, facebooking and tweeting everyone they knew. By the end of the movie, we probably had over a 100 people inside our lobby and outside our doors waiting for the two of them to get out.”

DeWitt tried to calm the storm by escorting the Twilight stars out the back door. "The cool thing was that Rob came up and said, 'Jay, don’t worry about it, let them in.' Rob and Kristen stayed for a good 15, 20 minutes signing autographs and taking pictures,” he said. 

A fan potted Pattinson and Stewart earlier at the Sheridan hotel in Vancouver but missed out on a photo opportunity. "We did see them but we were too in shock to take the picture," Mallory said. "They're so cute together."

Taylor fan encounter

"One of my mom's friends was walking around because she works with Bear Aware, and she was looking for bear tracks. She sees this really nice-looking guy running down the trail," said Lauren Aiken with a quick laugh.

"He just comes up to her and says, 'Hey, how's it goin'?' And she's like, 'Good.' And she's really, like, she doesn't watch Twilight, so she's like, 'Am I supposed to know you?' thinking in her head, and then he runs away. And then she describes him to me, and I'm like, 'Okay, I'm pretty sure that's Taylor Lautner,' and I show her a picture of him, and she's like, 'Yeah, that's him. Oh my God.'" 

Kursten Jack said she nearly fainted when she met the star. Last I heard, they were in this Shady Tree in Brackendale," said 18-year-old Kurstin Jack. "I met Jacob." She was referring to Taylor Lautner who plays the werewolf, Jacob, in the Twilight series. "It was nerve-wracking. I almost fainted. I turned around and spilled my Booster Juice on him. He laughed," she said. Jack also dished on places where the cast has recently been spotted, like Parmesans Pizza, McDonald's and Burger King.

One of the girls who met R/K at the movies saw them last night at dinner.

"Met Robert Pattinson again last night and saw Kristen Stewart while we were having dinner. Didn’t get a chance to talk to her, but talked briefly to Rob and he was SO nice."

"They were in a group together.. I don’t really want to say the restaurant because I do respect their privacy but it was in Squamish. We were sitting beside them for about 4 hours or so and let them be as I’m sure they are sick of being harassed. Then as we were leaving we bumped into him on our way out and he allowed a picture to be taken with him. He was incredibly nice and down to earth."

Fan Encounter With Rob in Baton Rouge (Kristen too)

Lindanne Lewis: "It was taken at the Kick off party in Baton Rouge in Oct (before halloween). I've met and talk with him twice. I saw him almost everyday when we were both working. He's gald that the final Twilight is over, now he want to move to others roles. Both of them are really cool people..both chain smoke like there's no tomorrow, but care for the cast and the crew. I will work around them both again...and Micheal Aills is Robert's stand in..omg..he looks  like Robert enough to be his twin! He is awesome!! Sooo easy to talk to...I saw him again during the wrap party. I met Kristen too. She is tiny and very shy..with a potty mouth..LOL!!! I work on the show in the paint dept. I painted the sets"

Fan Encounter with Rob and Kristen - NYE IOW

"Hi guys, I'm originally from the South Coast of England (where my best mate still lives) so we rented out a chalet on the Isle of Wight. Let me just state, there was NO Stalking involved, I am the only person in my group that loves Twilight and Kristen. We went to Ventor to a couple of the pubs on new years eve. There aren't a huge amount of pubs and we were moving on to the next one when we stopped to get cash out. The guy in front of us looked familiar, and then i twigged it was Tom Stu!

Sure enough Rob was just behind him and Kristen walked past us with 2 other English girls (she is so little).
I couldn't believe it but i didn't say anything to them at the time. I was in shock a little (also mildy tipsy!)
we continued with our pub crawl stopping off for a couple more drinks in another pub.

The final pub we got to at about ten to eleven in the evening and it was lovely so we decided to stay.
Whilst goofing around with my best mate and having a smoke, I realised we were standing right in front of the Brit Pack!

Kristen hung out with the girls most of the time i was there (she didn't seem to get bothered much at all and was chatting away) Later we went inside and I bumped into Rob (not intentional I swear!) the place was packed and small we stood right beside Kristen and her group watching the band play. They were all kinda mock dancing but then so were we as many drinks had been consumed at this point.

I went to buy more drinks at the bar, and some bloke was asking Rob for a Picture, he very politely declined... but said he would sign something.

When i walked past I asked if he could sign a little ugly doll toy we had brought with us, which he did.
Que a very interesting drunken conversation. The doll was blue and Rob wanted to know if it was racist to sign it! I laughed and said 'I didn't think so' he asked if we were having a good night. I replied by saying yes but I'm a probably a bit too pissed! he said 'yeah me too'!.

The clock chimed in twelve to old lang time there was kissing and hugging all round( sorry to say Rob and Kristen didn't appear to kiss in the pub).

I went outside for another smoke after twelve, and Kristen Walked out with the two girls....
I went up to her and said something like 'Hey I don't want a picture or anything' which made her instantly relax a little and i continued on to say that the runaways was my favourite film of this year, before i corrected myself and said last year ( i got a laugh ;) and that her performance inspired me to ask for a guitar for christmas from my boyfriend.

She said that was *beep* awesome and Joan would be thrilled to hear that' we chatted a little bit more before i said thanks happy new year, blah blah blah.

They all left at about quarter past twelve, we stayed at the pub drinking... a reporter came up and asked us some stuff and I told him to get bent! (drinking makes me feisty!!). More stuff happened but that was pretty much the gist of it :) I am sooo stoked I met Kristen,
(I realised she is in the background of one of our pictures, but I will not be posting that as it is a personal photo between me and my friends, we could of taken loads of sly photos of them, but we didn't want to invade with the privacy. Vicky

And she added! I did say in my post they didn't appear to kiss but only because their group was large and rob was much nearer the bar. however, yes i was kissing my boyfriend so they may have kissed or hugged when i wasn't looking (let me add i wasn't staring the whole time, but inside the pub Kristen was literally next to me, so it was hard not to look a bit!)"
