Breaking Dawn Part 1 Passes $700 Million Mark Worldwide

Summit Entertainment has just announced that Breaking Dawn Part 1, the fourth installment in the Twilight Saga, has grossed an estimated $701.3 million globally since the film was released in November.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 , starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, is also on its way to becoming the highest grossing film in the series.

The film is just a few million dollars away from passing New Moon, which took in $709.8 million.

Eclipse and Twilight grossed $698.5 million and $390.4, respectively .

Breaking Dawn Part 1 has yet to be released in several countries, including Japan and China.

The film company’s co-chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said in a statement: “The milestone is important on several fronts and illustrates the vitality of the franchise on a global scale even after four films. Stephenie Meyer’s story and characters were brought to the screen this time via the talented hands of Bill Condon along with the cast and crew that has been with the film franchise since its inception. We are very proud of the success the franchise has experienced and anticipate the saga’s conclusion this November.”

Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters on November 16, 2012.

NEW Interview with Kristen Talking about "Breaking Dawn", the BD Wedding and More

With the 'Twilight' films having transformed Kristen Stewart and its young cast into international superstars, Kirsten Stewart talks about filming 'Breaking Dawn, Part 1,' the next-to-last film of The Twilight Saga.
To accommodate everyone’s busy schedule, the decision was made to film the last Twilight book, Breaking Dawn, as one film and release it as two. With Breaking Dawn, Part 2 scheduled for release later this year (November 17), the Bill Condon-directed Breaking Dawn, Part 1 hits streets in a couple of weeks (February 11).
In the romantic, terrifying and danger-packed Breaking Dawn, Part 1, the human beauty Bella (Stewart) and her vampire beau Edward, (Robert Pattinson, allegedly her boyfriend in real life), tie the knot and have a supernatural baby.
While they are happy being husband and wife and first-time parents, Bella and Edward soon find out that the birth of their child has put them all in danger. In causes many unforeseen complications, the most shocking and unexpected is with Bella’s one-time werewolf love interest Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
In New York to chat about Breaking Dawn, Part 1, Stewart talks about the difficulties of shooting two movies back-to-back, if she feels like an iconic character, her beautiful wedding in the film, how she lost her baby weight so quickly, why she likes inspiring, her next film project about Snow White and her feelings towards Bella after playing her for several films.

 ONE-ON-ONE WITH KRISTEN STEWART...
Kristen, you look sane and normal today. What we had from Bill Condon you had a crazy life playing a virgin in the morning, delivering a baby in the afternoon, talk about the trials and tribulations? Also, Bella's become a huge pop culture character. How does it compare to playing Snow White?
Kristen:
"Shooting two movies at the same time, with no regard to -- it wasn't something we were initially concerned about. Scheduling wise, it really was -- everywhere in each day like Bill said. I think what that gave me was that -- she's thinking, she's always looking into the future and what she's going to achieve. Or she's feeling bad about what she wants. She's very much in her own head. Being able to play a vampire, a human, a pregnant woman -- literally sometimes in the day.. it helped remind me that it all was equally important. Everything felt very close. If we did it more systematically, it wouldn't have been the same. It was so overwhelming that it was a good thing."

And what about being an iconic character?
Kristen: "As for the iconic role, I guess the only actual comparison is that they really both are matriarchs. Very strong that need to find their position. But it's so different (Snow White VS Bella). Snow White was really never.. I didn't grow up on fairy tales. I didn't grow up with Twilight."

You've had great success away from the Twilight movies How have you avoided being typecast?
Kristen: "I've done pretty -- the movies I've done in between, I'm really lucky they've been very different. Not just because I meant them to be. They just happened to be very attractive to me. Right now is the first time I haven't worked and not known what I was going to be doing. I want to have time off to figure out what my interests are.
I want to really figure out what I REALLY want to do."

Are you drawn to low profile projects to avoid that kind of Twilight buzz?
Kristen: "No, it has nothing to do with the profile."

It looked like you lost a lot of weight when you were pregnant.
Kristen: "Digital. We didn't have time for me to do that for the role. That's so cool that you believe it looks so genuine. I feared people wouldn't like it. It did make me feel like, 'Uh, I hope you guys do a good job making me look that thin!'"

What was going through your mind in the wedding scene?
Kristen: "I had a million different things going through my head. I kept telling myself 'Stop, stop, stop' I can't ruin it. I was so in the right place to do that I just needed to do it, stand there, walk, see everyone. I know the story so well. Remembering my lines is the last thing I think about. If you know a story so well, the lines just come out if someone asks you/provokes you in the right way. I kept telling myself to find myself in this moment."

You, Taylor (Lautner) and Rob (Pattinson) have been in this since the beginning. What do the guys bring to the experience?
Kristen: "I couldn't have done -- I guess if you put different numbers in the equation you'll get a different answer, but I can't imagine doing this without Rob and Taylor. When I don't see Taylor for a while, I go (gasp) and take your phone out. When you work with great people like him, you just love it. We got along and it shows."

Fans tell me you inspire them to be themselves. What do you think about that?
Kristen: "I love that. I hate when people say "What advice do you want to give your fans?" Oh God, I don't even know how to explain this. People that I look up to... you find people in life who have common interests."

Rob made comments saying the wedding was practically real because you said real vows and you were pretty much married.
Kristen: "The priest couldn't even remember the lines! He'd say our real names. Was he a real minister? I'd like to find out." (laughs)

What are some of the milestones you experienced doing this movie?
Kristen: "This movie does have every mile stone. It crams a lot of milestones into one movie. It was a unique situation. All of the imposing elements. Every single time I think about this film, I think about a cat. In the corner. Claws out. Belly swollen. Stay the fuck away from me! That's how I relate to the scene. Yeah, lots of milestones. Heavy, heavy."

What's on your iPod right now?
Kristen: "This is really hilarious. I'm doing Snow White right now. It's really weird being here right now to be honest because I'm so involved in Snow White. Adele's new album is honestly... I've choreographed whole marches with my army behind me. It's really good for the Snow white story, almost too good for it. She's incredible....My regulars.. everyone knows what I listen to already, it's very boring."

What part of Bella sticks with you?
Kristen: "I 'm not totally sure. I'm pretty wrapped up in her and vise versa. I've always felt you really project yourself onto that character. If you're the type of girl to identify with Bella, you just are her. I'm asked 'So how do you make her different?' I'm like 'Yeah but, I do feel like I am her.' For her, somehow I could not disagree with her ever, and I didn't. We're pretty similar at times, but at times not. Hard to say."

Carolina Herrera Talks About Kristen On Wearing The 'Breaking Dawn' Wedding Dress

“We did three fittings. When she initially put on the dress and looked over her shoulder into the mirror, she was very moved,” Herrera tells the mag, on stands Wednesday. “In that moment she was not an actress or a character in a film but instead a bride, and a happy one at that.”

The dress seen in the sketch (left) is what the designer calls a “union between Stephenie [Meyer's] description in the book and the Herrera bridal aesthetic” — something she has been perfecting for 25 years.

“I took into consideration the character of Bella and Kristen’s portrayal of her, and what this fantasy character would choose to wear for the most important day of her life,” she explains of the masterpiece, which retails for $35,000. “It’s made of a crepe satin with two inserts on the front and beautiful silk thread topstitching. The neckline is a slight V, just enough to see the collarbones. The back is oval-shaped, with aChantilly lace border veiled in tulle. It’s very romantic, and when all the details come together, it creates a vision specific to Bella’s style and personality.”

Rob Talks about Kristen, Babies & More with Capricho (Brazil)

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Robert Pattinson arrived at the luxurious Four Seasons hotel, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, very much like himself. Beard, jeans, white shirt and hat turned to the back. Before we started the interview, he passed by me carrying a dog bed and left it in a room, at the end of the hall, where Bear was. Yes, Rob’s dog always joins him in his business commitments, ever since his owner adopted him, during Breaking Dawn filming.

The English actor came back laughing and not even caring that I was there seeing everything. Rob is exactly like that: a simple guy that makes sure to always be himself. In 4 years of the Twilight saga, the most famous actor in Hollywood, never let success go up to his head. He was never involved in scandals and doesn't like talking about his personal life - even his relationship with Kristen almost goes unnoticed. Rob's secret? To have his family and his "few true friends" always around him. In this exclusive interview to CAPRICHO, Robert Pattinson also talked about what he felt while shooting 'Breaking Dawn': he said he only got scared during the wedding scene when saw Kristen walking dawn the aisle towards him, and that he was terrified to hold a real baby. Ah! Notice the loving way he talks about his girlfriend.

It was so cool to see you talking Portuguese...
I wonder what the fans thought of me. They think I did it all wrong.. Honestly, I was just repeating the words people were saying to me. (laughs)

What did you feel when you saw Kristen wearing the wedding dress?>
She looked amazing. To me, it was a very easy scene. I didn't have to hide, like Kristen, because of the dress. She was so stressed, sitting inside the house, waiting for the paparazzi helicopters to leave. I was great, until I saw her walking in my direction. When I saw her terrified look, I realized that it was my scene too, that I was going to have to do something. (laughs) It was my time to freak out. But it was a beautiful scene.

And the sex scene? Was it difficult to shoot?
No. That was easy! (laughs). The hardest thing was that, in normal movies, when you're doing a sex scene, people don't pressure you a lot because the director doesn't want to intervene and suggest how he would do that. (laughs) But in Breaking Dawn, it was different, there was too much expectation. How to make all the people, that were waiting for that moment, happy?

Do you think you did well?
I think all the merits go to the director, Bill Condon. Because there weren't many ways to film a nice sex scene with a PG-13 rating. You can't show too much. It can't be "complete", with everyone naked. (laughs)

Was there anything that made your life easier during that time?
Actually, nothing made things less weird. (laughs) There were three men to break the bed. I was trying to do a sex scene and there was huge guy laying on the floor, looking at me and telling me what to do.

How was your attitude torwards Kristen
I was worried about protecting her because, you know, in that situation, everything is more complicated. But in the end, she was more comfortable with her body than I was with mine. (laughs)

Were you embarrassed to be shirtless
(Laughs) I was trying to keep the sheets covering us during the breaks between scenes. But it was more because of me than Kristen (laughs). Have to be judge by how I look like is terrifying. -- I avoided that the whole saga. --

Did you work out to film those scenes
Yes. But, as soon as I filmed them and didn't need to be shirtless, I stopped working out. (laughs)

The birth scene is so dramatic. How was to shoot that?
I read the script and didn't understand it. It didn't look like a Twilight scene. To see Bella almost dead and have to do a c-section with my mouth. I thought: "How are they going to film that?"

And Kristen? She was okay with it?
She's very commited to the role and was really involved in Bella's story. She was so intense in the scene, I don't know, I think it brought out an emotion in me. For the first time during the saga I was nervous. There was no other way to shoot that. It's a scary scene.

Taylor Lautner said Kristen looked really sexy as a vampire. True?
(Laughs)Of course, a sexy goddess. She looked amazing. It was funny because Bella is that girl that is always tripping on things, and then, she turns into this elegant woman, like a vampire queen. Kristen had the best twist in the plot!

Did the movie make you think what kind of father would you be?
I never really thought about that, but during the second part of the movie, we were filming with 2-3 weeks old babies, and I was terrified. You have no idea how small they are. (laughs). I was scared to death to break them.

Do you want to be a young dad?
I think that would be nice, because I don't have a lot of friends. (laughs) Sorry, I don't have a younger brother, my idea about kids is kind of immature. (laughs)

How do you define love?
Wow. (laughs) I think it's to be with someone and let that person to be herself. Each one has to live their own lives, but with the support of the other person. And you need to be able to do what you want. This is one of the definitions of a couple in love, because love is about so many other things.

Have Kris, Tay and you really become friends?
We went through this moment in our careers together It's nice to be around people that were going through the same thing. It's easier to keep your ego and sanity under control. Like, any of us would judge the other if he/she changed. And the fact that we are still friends, after five movies, is amazing. We were lucky.

How would you describe Kristen?
She's great. Ok, that was awful (laughs) She's ambitious.I like that obsessive determination she has to be herself. She's amazing. She takes the things she says too seriously, kind of like the opposite of me. (laughs)

What have you learned in these four years in Twilight
The importance to keep my feet on the ground. Ever since I became an actor, I saw people who with just a little fame, lost it. But the majority of the people I’ve worked with in Twilight didn’t, just like the actors in Harry Potter. Having family and real friends around me helped me a lot. That makes the difference in life.

Four years ago, you were shocked with fame. What changed?
Everything. It’s strange being the subject all the time. You feel powerful and think that you can do anything you want. You want to remember your original dreams because it all gets confusing and distorted when you have a million people telling you what to do. You feel that you are being judged, no matter what you do. I still believe in what I used to believe

Have you given up on being a musician?
I stopped doing gigs because who goes to see me wants to see the famous person. It’s nice to play to people that just want to have fun and don't care about who I am.

But do you still make music?
Yes. I’ve made millions of songs. (laughs) I play the guitar, piano and cello.

You play paino in 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2', right?
I teach Renesmee how to play the piano. It's nice. I shot the scene with a 4 year old girl that played better than me. (laughs)

At 25, what do you want from life?
I don’t know, to become an adult? I still feel like I’m 12. I hope to grow up. (laughs)
