Universal Moves Forward with SWATH Sequel

Deadline.com - June 7, 2012 EXCLUSIVE: Studios are relying heavily on sequels this summer, but the toughest thing to do is to introduce something new that launches a franchise. It looks like Universal has done that with Snow White And The Huntsman. I’m told that the studio is making all the moves that indicate another chapter is in the offing, and on a fast track.

Universal commenced David Koepp to write the sequel script, which Deadline revealed in late April might happen. The studio is now talking with director Rupert Sanders about a return, after he made his feature directing debut on the first installment. Sanders is interested; he had a great time making the first movie. But unlike most first time directors, he doesn’t have to come back. That’s because Snow White And The Huntsman was sold in an auction by CAA that included a presentation by Sanders of how he was going to shoot the film. Sanders was part of the package, as was producer Joe Roth, and that gave the agency leverage to make a much better deal than a first timer usually gets. The filmmaker is in demand now, but he hasn’t chosen his next film and a sequel might well be it. I understand that the actors in the film have options for two sequels, so that part of the equation shouldn’t be too difficult.

Kristen's Interview with "20 Minuten" (Switzerland)

Source | Translation: Robsteners

Video:
Has acting been your dream job ever since?
No, I think I started going to set with my mum a lot and I'd see kids on set. I was jealous and bored and I really wanted a job. The only thing you can do as a kid is acting. That was fun and a great responsability. I felt awesome because I was treated like an adult. At 13 I made a movie and realised that I want to keep acting for myself. Yeah I love it.

  Interview:
What do you like best about the new Snow White?
Kristen Stewart: At court Snow White is excluded and is not allowed to participate in the social life. Instead she's connected with plain citizens and would do everything for the people. That's nice.
Can you put yourself in this situation?
Yes, I do share too, however as a star, I share my life with the public, that's pretty crazy.

Were you also treated like a thirteen-year-old while filming this movie?
No (laughs). The physical effort this time was enormous. I was aware of the fact that it'd be exhausting and cold. The movie shows the real conditions that we experienced on set. When I shiver in one scene, then I was really cold.

Kristen's New Interview with "Bild am Sonntag" (Germany)

Bild am Sonntag: At the end of this month your movie “Snow White and the Huntsman” will release in which you play Snow White – the only woman who’s more beautiful than Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. How does that feel?
Kristen: Lies. Charlize is badass: When she enters a room you’re blown away by her presence. Her charisma is incredible.

Is it true that they often thought you were a boy?
True. I grew up with three brothers, I even had to wear their clothes. I never felt really girly.

Did it make you a freak?
It’s rather helped me not to put so much emphasis on my appearance and to stand for hours in front of the mirror. I’m not conceited, but I feel very comfortable in my body.

Today you’re one of the most beautiful young actresses in Hollywood. Beauty there is an important good...which is, however, not worth anything, if you don’t have a good heart.
I’ve already met several people whose beauty has taken my breath at first. But after five minutes of small talk you notice how ugly the people are inside.

Would you undergo a plastic surgery should you feel uncomfortable in your body one day?
Never! I already shiver at the thought of waking up from the anesthesia and not looking like myself anymore.

Honestly, God knows, there are more important things in life than this superficial shit.
I feel sorry for the people who seriously take a surgey into account just to look beautiful.

Not to mention the fact that those surgeries represent an improvement only in the rarest cases.

Please credit us if you post the translation elsewhere, thank you.

"Bild am Sonntag" is known as a boulevard paper, so take it with a grain of salt :)
