According to the MTV Movie Awards about page, this year's show will not only be seen on MTV via cable or satellite television, but there will be live streaming online and social media components as well.
Multiple camera angles will be set up for backstage coverage, so viewers can watch to see presenters preparing to go on stage, or winners arriving backstage.
Additionally, there is social media interaction including the 2012 Twitter Tracker which will show the top trending moments from the show.

Kristen, Charlize & Chris Hemsworth to Present at This Year's MTVMAs
MTV announced that the first lineup of presenters would come from four
of the season’s most anticipated blockbusters, “The Amazing Spiderman”
“Snow White and the Huntsman” “Prometheus” and “Ted”.
Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth... will all be
on hand on Sunday, June 3, to hand out the Golden Popcorn statuettes.
The show, which will air live on MTV from the Gibson Amphitheatre in
Universal City, is once again allowing fans to choose the Movie of the
Year winner, with voting open at MTV.com and continuing through the
broadcast on June 3.

Kellan Lutz Talks About The "Breaking Dawn" Arm Wrestling Scene With Kristen
“I really had an amazing time shooting the arm-wrestling scene with Kristen,” he said. “It’s great seeing her take on the vampire character of Bella. Arm wrestling her and seeing her all brooding and [acting] tough, it was fun.”
Well, actually, it wasn’t all fun and games according to Kellan. “She hurt my arm,” he continued, joking. “I mean, gosh. She’s a strong girl.”

Jason Bateman Wants to Give Rob an "Accent Test"

Though "Horrible Bosses" stars Jason Bateman and Charlie Day might not have been up for any MTV Movie Awards, they still were a bit defensive about the way "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" swept Sunday's awards show.
"There's nothing but Brits," Bateman said. "Lots of Brits on stage."
Day agreed with Bateman's sentiments. "I think I'm up to 15 Brits, and why do we let them in here?" he deadpanned. "I mean, they win all our awards and they get all our acting jobs. You know, I could be a vampire. Not now, but 15 years ago."
Bateman seemed to doubt whether Robert Pattinson's accent was even real.
"Boca. I heard Boca," Day said after Bateman called Pattinson's origins into question.
MTV's Josh Horowitz tried to lead the interview away from dangerous territory by asking what the duo would do if they ever met Pattinson in real life, but they weren't having it.
"I'd give him some sort of an accent test," Bateman said, and Day followed with, "I'd have to see some sort of drivers license. Birth certificate. "
