There have been so many bad adaptations of Jack Kerouac’s classic beat novel, one of those “unfilmable” books, that the temptation is to shrug off yet another attempt. But this one is from Brazil’s Walter Salles, who nailed the Kerouac vibe with The Motorcycle Diaries, and who can be counted on to do something that respects the text without embalming it. Control’s Sam Riley and Tron: Legacy’s Garrett Hedlund star, with a supporting crew that includes Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst.
